CD
Compact Disc, a matue optical media used to store digital data, originally designed for storing digital audio. The CD, developed by Philips in late 1970s, available on the market since October 1982, remains the standard physical medium for distribute of commercial audio recordings to the present day.

VCD
Video CD is a standard digital format for storing video on a Compact Disc. VCDs are playable in dedicated VCD players, most modern DVD-Video players, personal computers, and some video game consoles.
The VCD format is very popular throughout Asia.

CD ROM
While the Compact Disc format was originally designed for music storage and playback, the 1985 “Yellow Book” standard developed by Sony and Philips adapted the format to hold any form of binary data. And it is so called "CD-ROM". CD-ROMs are popularly used to distribute computer software, including games and multimedia applications.
